Job Summary
Summary
Inpatient Operations Pharmacists contribute to both operational and clinical pharmacy services at Massachusetts General Hospital. Pharmacists ensure daily distribution, repackaging, compounding, and perioperative operations are carried out effectively, and provide final product verification for medications. Staff provide clinical support to several onsite clinics, as well as Home Hospital patient populations. Team members contribute to department and enterprise-wide goals via quality improvement initiatives, medication safety workgroups, staff-led projects, and more. This is a full-time, on-site position rotating between morning and evening shifts, including a weekend staffing component.
Responsible for the optimization of drug therapy by identification, resolution, and prevention of drug related problems and improving therapeutic outcomes. Also responsible for providing patient care according to the laws and regulations governing pharmacists and the practice of pharmacy by the appropriate state and federal agencies. May be responsible for prescribing medications under specific collaborative drug therapy management agreements (CDTM).
