Benefits Coordinator
Location : New York, NY (Hybrid / In-Office)
Overview :
A large, mission-driven organization is seeking a Benefits Coordinator to join its Employee Benefits group. This role supports benefits administration across a wide network of affiliated institutions, ensuring accurate data management and exceptional customer service for employees. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and committed to maintaining confidentiality while delivering high-quality support.
Reports to : Manager, Employee Benefits
Key Responsibilities
- Review and verify new hire and employee benefits data for accuracy.
- Enter and update benefits information across multiple systems and platforms.
- Process billing adjustments and reconcile monthly consolidated invoices in a timely manner.
- Manage benefit continuation processes, including communications, notifications, and invoicing.
- Distribute required compliance letters and notifications related to benefit continuation and exchange coverage.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems.
- Provide prompt and professional responses to employee benefit inquiries.
- Support special projects, reporting requests, and other tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.1–3+ years of experience in benefits administration, HR, or related field.Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail.Excellent customer service and communication skills.High level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).Experience with HRIS or benefits administration systems required; prior experience with Lawson HRIS highly preferred.Ability to multitask effectively during peak periods and work both independently and collaboratively.Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred.
