Role Overview

We are looking for a knowledgeable and hands-on Safety and Health Consultant to support our manufacturing and packaging operations in Huntley, IL. This fractional role is ideal for professionals with at least 3 years of experience in industrial safety who can provide strategic guidance and operational support without a full-time commitment.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct facility-wide safety audits, hazard assessments, and compliance inspections.

Develop and implement OSHA-compliant safety programs tailored to manufacturing and packaging environments.

Train employees on safe handling of machinery, packaging equipment, and hazardous materials.

Investigate workplace incidents and lead root cause analysis with corrective action plans.

Ensure compliance with federal, state (Illinois), and local health and safety regulations.

Support ergonomic assessments and injury prevention strategies.

Monitor safety KPIs and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.

Collaborate with production and HR teams to embed safety into daily operations.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

Minimum 3 years of experience in safety roles within manufacturing or packaging industries.

Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, Illinois workplace safety laws, and industrial hygiene practices.

Certifications such as OSHA 30, CSP, CIH, or NEBOSH preferred.

Excellent communication, training, and documentation skills.
