Home Health Aide (CHHA)

Preferred Care at Home has immediate Part-Time and Full-Time needs for Caregivers in the following areas of Bergen County, NJ (4–12 hr shifts) :

I have the following open cases :

3 hours, 4 days a week. evening shift, ongoing

12-hour shift 5 days a week, starting in October

4  hours, 5 days a week, ongoing

3 hour 2 shifts a day 7 days a week, ongoing

We are always getting new cases

Case Locations : Rutherford,

• Clifton

Hackensack,

Garfield,

Secaucus

Position Overview :

Immediate openings for caregivers who are compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aides (HHA), ideally with a Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA).

As a caregiver, you will provide essential non-medical care for individuals in their homes. You will support clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities :

Personal Care Assistance : Help clients with eating, dressing, bathing, grooming, and mobility

Medication Reminders : Ensure clients follow their prescribed medication schedules

Basic Health Monitoring : Report physical or emotional changes to the supervising nurse

Daily Activities : Accompany clients on walks and provide companionship

Meal Preparation : Prepare simple, nutritious meals for clients

Light Housekeeping : Maintain a clean and safe living environment, including laundry, tidying, and dishwashing

Safety and Communication : Monitor the client's safety, address concerns proactively, and communicate any issues promptly to the care team or family

Basic Wound Care Support : Reinforce simple dressings as needed

Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses, doctors, and family members

Stay up-to-date on CHHA training, policies, and procedures

Must be on time and stay until the end of the shift

Qualifications :

Good communication skills

Reliable, caring, and attentive to detail

Completion of a state-approved CNA or CHHA certification training course with a valid certificate

Current CPR (American Heart Association) Certification

Ability to think and work independently and with direction

Comfortable working in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment

Valid identification

Basic computer skills

Excellent personal hygiene
