Municipal Engineer (PE)

Salary Range : $130,000-$170,000

A client of Ultimate Staffing is seeking a licensed Municipal Engineer to provide technical leadership and oversee public works and infrastructure projects for local agencies. This role supports City Engineers in planning, design, and execution, with a growth path toward becoming a designated contract City Engineer. The ideal candidate will manage deliverables, build client relationships, and contribute to strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead and support municipal projects including roads, utilities, and public facilities
• Act as a technical liaison between cities, contractors, and consultants
• Coordinate with internal teams and external agencies to align project goals with community needs
• Assist in developing and reviewing capital improvement plans and budgets
• Represent the city in public meetings and community outreach efforts
• Manage project timelines, resources, and team workloads
• Progressively take on broader responsibilities with the goal of transitioning into a contract City Engineer role
• Ensure accurate and timely regulatory reporting, including taxes, permits, and licenses
• Prepare and oversee annual budgets and intercompany reconciliations
• Perform general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, financial analysis, and payroll oversight
• Support banking operations and maintain compliance with company procedures
• Foster a professional and ethical work environment
