Controller

Angott Search Group has been retained by a growing highly regarded Michigan-based community bank to identify a Controller. This opportunity arises due to the planned promotion of the current Controller reflecting the banks strong leadership development and internal advancement culture.

The Controller will play a key role in overseeing the banks accounting and financial reporting functions while supporting strategic initiatives across the organization. This position leads a team of five and partners closely with executive leadership on financial operations planning and is a full-time in-office position based in Ann Arbor Michigan.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial reporting functions

Prepare and review call reports and regulatory filings

Lead monthly financial close and board reporting packages

Manage budgeting forecasting and financial planning processes

Support select IT and system-related initiatives impacting finance and reporting

Provide leadership mentorship and oversight to the accounting team

Qualifications

710 years of progressive accounting or auditing experience

Prior experience within a financial institution required

Previous Controller experience and / or CPA preferred but not required

Strong leadership analytical and communication skills
