Support and assist the Director of Risk Management in all aspects of the hospitals risk management and patient safety initiatives.
Lead investigations of adverse events, near misses, and sentinel events; ensure accurate documentation and timely reporting.
Collaborate with clinical and administrative departments to develop and implement corrective action plans.
Monitor trends in incident data to identify systemic risks and drive improvement strategies.
Provide education and training to staff on risk prevention, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.
Maintain compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, state, and UHS corporate standards and policies.
Participate in performance improvement committees and contribute to safety-related initiatives.
Ensure timely management of claims and coordination with legal counsel and insurance providers when necessary.
Develop, update, and implement hospital-wide risk management policies and procedures.
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Risk Management, or a related field (required).
13 years of experience in hospital or healthcare risk management, patient safety, or quality improvement (required).
Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) credential (preferred).
Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, patient safety principles, and clinical risk management practices.
Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
