Manager, Patient Safety and Risk Management

Job description :

• Support and assist the Director of Risk Management in all aspects of the hospitals risk management and patient safety initiatives.
• Lead investigations of adverse events, near misses, and sentinel events; ensure accurate documentation and timely reporting.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative departments to develop and implement corrective action plans.
• Monitor trends in incident data to identify systemic risks and drive improvement strategies.
• Provide education and training to staff on risk prevention, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, state, and UHS corporate standards and policies.
• Participate in performance improvement committees and contribute to safety-related initiatives.
• Ensure timely management of claims and coordination with legal counsel and insurance providers when necessary.
• Develop, update, and implement hospital-wide risk management policies and procedures.
