This is a 99-bed acute care hospital serving North Central Florida and surrounding communities. The facility includes a 10-bed ICU, 24-hour Emergency Department, cardiac catheterization laboratory, and inpatient/outpatient rehabilitation services, delivering high-quality, patient-centered care with modern technology and compassionate professionals.
Job Summary
The Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse delivers high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in accordance with departmental requirements, professional standards, and state regulations. This role involves collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care while advocating for patients and families to ensure positive clinical outcomes and an exceptional patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patient condition upon admission and during each scheduled shift, identifying and reporting changes in status
- Perform nursing procedures, monitoring, and interventions as ordered by medical providers
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic responses, and take appropriate action for adverse reactions
- Accurately and timely document all care provided in the patient medical record
- Respond promptly to patient requests and proactively anticipate patient needs
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up care
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, peers, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Serve as a patient advocate while upholding organizational values and standards of care
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of acute care Registered Nurse experience
- Active Florida RN license or approved multistate compact RN license
- Compact license holders must obtain a Florida RN license within 60 days of relocation
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification
- Must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date if not current
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills
