Client Bookkeeping Specialist

Seeking an experienced Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist to manage multiple clients’ books. The ideal candidate will have agency experience, maintain accurate financial records, perform month-end close tasks, reconcile accounts, prepare financial reports, and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. Must be comfortable handling several client files simultaneously and communicating clearly with clients and team members.

Key Responsibilities :

• Maintain full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple client sets, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll data entry (if applicable), bank and credit card reconciliations.

Post journal entries, process invoices, record receipts, and manage cash receipts and deposits.

Prepare and review month-end and year-end close tasks (trial balance, adjusting entries).

Generate timely financial statements and management reports (profit & loss, balance sheet, cash flow) tailored for each client.

Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.

Maintain client-specific charts of accounts and ensure consistency across periods.

Assist with sales tax preparation and filing, payroll tax reporting coordination, and support during audits.

Implement and maintain accounting procedures and internal controls.

Communicate with clients to resolve questions, obtain documentation, and advise on minor bookkeeping / accounting matters.

Support transition and onboarding of new clients’ books, including conversion from other systems.

Stay current on accounting best practices and regulatory changes relevant to client work. Qualifications :

3+ years bookkeeping / accounting experience, including managing multiple client books concurrently.

Strong understanding of GAAP fundamentals and bookkeeping controls.

Experience preparing month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement generation.

Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize across multiple client deadlines.

Strong communication skills for client interactions and internal collaboration.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial data.

Experience with payroll processing, sales tax, or small business accounting a plus.
