Job Title : Travel CVICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Location : Charlotte, NC 28203 (North Carolina nursing jobs)

Healthcare Setting : Mattei Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (14 beds, average census 11)

Start Date : August 25, 2025

End Date : November 22, 2025

Contract Length : 13-week contract

Shift : 12-hour night shifts (1845-0715), Thursday, Friday, Saturday

Hours per Week : 36 guaranteed

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1780 - $1910

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license (Registered Nurse)

Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU or CTICU experience at a similar level

BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required

EPIC EMR experience required

Clinical experience with high-acuity cardiac surgery patients and advanced cardiac devices (ECMO, Impella, IABP, LVAD / RVAD)

Ability to present on patients once per shift (1500 and 2030)

First-time travelers not accepted

CVICU Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver expert nursing care to post-cardiac surgery patients, including those with ECMO, Impella, IABP, LVAD / RVAD devices

Manage a 1 : 2 nurse-to-patient ratio in a high-acuity CVICU environment

Utilize EPIC EMR for documentation and patient management

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including CNAs, charge nurses, respiratory therapists, intensivists, and hospitalists

Participate in patient presentations and interdisciplinary rounds

Float to other adult critical care units as needed

Maintain proactive, team-oriented care and uphold the unit’s culture of excellence
