Job Title : Senior / Lead Software Engineer - Java, Equities, OMS

Location : Houston, TX

Pay Range : $70 - $75 (Competitive, based on experience)

Introduction

Join our dynamic Equities technology group as a Senior / Lead Software Engineer. Drive innovation in a collaborative, agile team environment. We are looking for a motivated Java Developer Lead to manage our Equities, ETF, and Program Trading Order Management System (OMS). This role is crucial for handling high-volume client orders and integrating with multiple systems. Collaborate with stakeholders to transform requirements into scalable solutions, ensuring our OMS remains reliable and responsive to market changes. Apply your expertise across the software development lifecycle to deliver secure, stable, and market-leading technology products.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Expertise in Java / J2EE as a lead developer in low latency application development, and Core Java concepts in large-scale distributed applications in mission-critical environments
Proficient in Linux, REST API, Spring Boot, Node.js, SQL.
Worked with DevOps environment like Terraform, Jenkins, Chef, Ansible
Familiarity with message / event-driven applications and Messaging APIs like JMS
Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, TDD, resiliency, and application security
Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences. Proven track record of delivering results and working in collaborative teams. Awareness of industry technology trends and best practices

Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Technology, or related field

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

Knowledge of AWS, FIX Protocol, and Trade lifecycle is a plus

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and implement Equities Order Management Systems as part of the OMS team

Define architecture patterns aligning with business and technical strategies

Collaborate with a global team to deliver new features and bug fixes

Engage with business stakeholders to document requirements

Assist in release rollouts and provide Level 3 production support

Enhance processes to improve deliverable quality and team efficiency

Offer technical guidance to support business and technical teams, contractors, and vendors

Develop secure, high-quality code and review / debug others' code

Influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations

Serve as a subject matter expert in specific focus areas

Advocate for firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices within the engineering community

Promote the use of cutting-edge technologies among peers and decision-makers

Foster a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
