Director of Engineering

We’re looking for a senior engineering leader to own execution, delivery, and team structure as ContextAI scales. This role is intentionally scoped to allow growth both above and below as the organization expands.

What You’ll Do

Own delivery across a distributed engineering team

Translate company priorities into executable plans under fast growth conditions

Establish clear ownership, operating rhythms, and accountability

Maintain quality, reliability, and production readiness

Partner closely with product and sales to ship customer-impacting work

Engage directly in technical design and implementation when needed

What Works Well in This Role

Experience leading teams across locations and time zones

Strong judgment in process selection – just enough structure to scale without execution.

Technical depth to review PR’s, apply standards and best practices, personally evaluate work, unblock teams, and contribute directly when necessary.

Comfort working with a growing staff of in‑house engineers and external contributors

Calm, outcome‑oriented leadership style

You’ll shape how engineering operates as the company grows—how priorities are set, how teams execute across time zones, and how reliability and velocity improve together rather than trade off. Your work will directly determine whether ContextQA can move from a strong product to a repeatable, scalable platform.
