Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)
A leading hospital is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join its surgical services team on contract or travel contract. The OR RN plays a critical role in providing safe, high-quality patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide direct patient care in the operating room, including pre-op assessment, intra-op monitoring, and post-op recovery.
- Prepare and maintain the operating room with sterile instruments, surgical equipment, and supplies.
- Monitor vital signs and patient condition throughout surgery.
- Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists by anticipating needs and providing instruments and materials.
- Enforce sterile technique and infection prevention protocols.
- Accurately document surgical procedures, patient status, and care provided.
- Collaborate closely with the surgical team to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Adhere to hospital policies, Joint Commission standards, and OSHA requirements.
Qualifications :
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room RN experience.Robotic surgery and orthopedic / neuro surgery experience required.BLS certification (AHA required).ACLS and PALS certifications preferred.Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and communication skills.Ability to stay calm and focused in high-pressure surgical settings.Position Details :
