DEPT : PHP INFECTION PREVENTION

Full-Time / 8 : 00 am - 4 : 30 pm

The Infection Prevention Specialist (IP) is responsible for the oversight of daily prevention activities to achieve program’s goals with the system / organizational strategic priorities. The role is developed from the needs of the entire Premier Partners system and hospital community to reduce the risk of infection for patients, all staff and visitors.The IPcollaborates with persons clinically responsible for inpatient and outpatient departments as well as non-patient care support areas based on interpretation and evaluation of CMS, CDC, OSHA, ODH, APIC, TJC, and EPA guidelines, standards and / or regulations or other standards related to infection control and epidemiology.

Education

Minimum Level of Education Required : Bachelor's degree

Additional requirements :

§ Type of degree : Bachelor’s Degree Required

§ Area of study or major : Nursing

§ Preferred educational qualifications : Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred.

§ Position specific testing requiremen t : N / Licensure / Certification / Registration

§Current State of Ohio licensure as Registered Nurse

§Certification in Infection Control strongly preferred (upon hire) or completed within 3 years from date in position.
