Summit Design + Build is looking for a Field Engineer to support a commercial / multifamily project in North Carolina that is in its final stages. This is a project-based role focused heavily on field coordination, punchlist, and close-out activities. It's a great opportunity for someone who wants hands-on site experience and to support a project through completion.
What You Will Do :
As a Field Engineer at Summit, you will :
- Provide on-site support to the Superintendent and project team during the final phase of construction.
- Assist with punchlist tracking, coordination, and close-out activities.
- Support field inspections, walkthroughs, and quality control efforts.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure timely completion of remaining work.
- Help track field issues, RFIs, and minor scope adjustments as needed.
- Maintain daily field documentation and assist with project close-out deliverables.
- Be present in the field daily and support day-to-day jobsite needs.
Who We Are Looking For :
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent field experience).1-3 years of commercial construction experience (internships or field roles count).Strong interest in field operations and jobsite coordination.Comfortable working on-site and collaborating closely with superintendents and trades.Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented.Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction software is a plus.Additional Details :
This role is project-based and tied to the completion of the current project.Ideal for someone looking to gain strong field experience and support a project through punchlist and close-out.For the right candidate who is open to travel, there may be an opportunity to transition into a full-time role after project completion.Note : Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship.
