ServiceNow Developer / Engineer (CMDB Focus)

Chandler, AZ (Onsite / Hybrid) | Full-Time or Contract-to-Hire | $90,000 – $130,000 / year or up to $85 / hour (all-inclusive contract rate)

We’re seeking an experienced ServiceNow Developer or Engineer with deep CMDB expertise to design, configure, and optimize ServiceNow environments that improve data accuracy, streamline workflows, and enhance platform performance.

This role is ideal for a mid-level professional passionate about CMDB integrity, discovery automation, and ServiceNow integrations across ITSM, ITOM, and ITAM modules.

Position Overview

The ServiceNow Developer / Engineer will design, develop, and maintain CMDB-related features and integrations within the ServiceNow platform. The role requires close collaboration with architects, analysts, and cross-functional delivery teams to implement scalable solutions that align with organizational goals and ServiceNow best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement solutions within ServiceNow focused on CMDB, Discovery, and Service Mapping .

Integrate CMDB with ITSM , ITOM , and Asset Management modules to enhance data visibility and accuracy.

Configure identification and reconciliation rules, CI classes, and relationship models.

Develop automation scripts using JavaScript , Flow Designer , and Orchestration .

Conduct CMDB audits, data reconciliation, and root cause analysis for data quality issues.

Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and deliver technical solutions.

Troubleshoot CMDB, Discovery, and integration-related issues.

Support platform upgrades, patching, and continuous improvement efforts.

Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

3+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development or engineering experience.

Strong understanding of CMDB structure , CI relationships , and Discovery patterns .

Experience configuring MID Servers and integration protocols ( REST / SOAP, JDBC, etc. ).

Proficiency in JavaScript , Glide APIs , Flow Designer , and platform configuration.

Experience with at least one ServiceNow module : ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, or SAM .

Ability to create clear technical documentation and solution design specifications.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (preferred).

Preferred Skills

Hands-on experience with Service Mapping and automated discovery tools.

Familiarity with data normalization and reconciliation strategies .

Exposure to ServiceNow CSDM (Common Service Data Model) framework.

ServiceNow certifications (CSA, CAD, CIS – Discovery, CMDB) are a plus.
