Join our dedicated team at the Pediatric Specialties division of Bernard & Millie Duker Children's Hospital as a Per Diem Registered Nurse! We are seeking a compassionate RN to support our exceptional multi-disciplinary team in providing care across seven pediatric specialties including Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Endocrinology, Infectious Disease, Rheumatology, Pulmonary, and Genetics.
In this role, you will work closely under the guidance of physicians and advanced practice providers and will be instrumental in delivering direct patient care. Your responsibilities will include patient triage (both in-person and telephonic), conducting assessments, planning care, and evaluating individual care plans and clinic visits.
Key Responsibilities :
- Accurately measure and document patient's vital signs; promptly report any abnormal findings to the treating provider.
- Collect and record comprehensive patient histories—medical, surgical, and social—as well as conducting focused physical assessments as per clinic guidelines.
- Administer medications and treatments in the clinic setting, under direction from a physician or APP.
- Assist with in-office procedures in collaboration with clinic specialists and document results in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Review and triage incoming test results, patient requests, and medication refills while ensuring timely follow-ups.
- Facilitate effective use of resources to achieve patient outcomes and contribute to quality metrics at the Facility, State, and National levels.
- Delegate appropriate tasks to LPNs and MAs in compliance with licensure regulations.
- Ensure adherence to AMC's compliance policies and the standards set by regulatory agencies.
- Support orientation and education for newly hired staff.
- Participate in ongoing education to remain updated on best practices in pediatric specialties.
- Provide patient education to enhance understanding of health and wellness.
Minimum Requirements :
Associate's degree from a state-accredited Registered Nursing program.Current New York State RN licensure.Valid CPR certification.Preferred certification in a relevant specialty or ambulatory care setting.Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to clearly present information and address inquiries from patients, families, and colleagues.Proficient in utilizing computer software and electronic health record systems.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.Skill in administering medications via various routes and calculating dosages accurately.Thank you for considering a career with Albany Medical Center!
