Underwriting Specialist

Under the direction of the Vice President, Risk and Underwriting, and the Sr. Director of Underwriting, the Underwriting Specialist is responsible for underwriting merchant accounts, verifying / validating merchant data and determining preliminary or final merchant account approval. The Underwriting Department is responsible for the underwriting merchant applications, proper execution and due diligence associated with routine verification and validation of merchant data (KYC / KYB).

Responsibilities include :

• Collecting, reviewing and analyzing a merchant applicants relevant history and records and obtaining additional information to determine suitability as needed.
• Determining the level of risk and security needed for approval.
• Offering recommendations on whether to approve an application.
• Communicating and coordinating with outside agents regarding merchant applications.
• Working and responding to tickets or other requests from customers, partners and internal company personnel.
• Collecting data for reporting purposes.
• Other duties as assigned.

Pay Range : $35-$39 / hr.
