  • Position Description

Bon Secours Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center is seeking Locum Critical Care – Neuro coverage. This role involves managing adult patients in a Neuro ICU within a Level 1 trauma and comprehensive stroke center. The provider will cover neuro ICU patients and neurosurgery consults independently during night shifts, supported by phone-accessible neuro intensivists.

  • Trauma Volume : ~40%
  • Inpatient : 100%
  • Average Census : ~10 Neuro ICU patients per night + ~5 neurosurgery consults per night
  • Neurologist Coverage : No neurologists onsite at night; 2 neuro intensivists available by phone
  • Support Staff : 3 Advanced Practice Providers in the group
  • Onsite Resources : Labs, X-ray, typical Level 1 trauma setup
  • Trauma Level / Designation : Level 1 trauma, comprehensive stroke center
  • EMR : Epic
  • Call Schedule / Ratio : Not applicable

  • Board Certified PA or CNP – Required
  • Active Ohio license – Required, no exceptions
  • Clean background – Required, no exceptions
  • BLS & ACLS – Required
  • ENLS – Highly preferred
  • Experience covering Neuro ICU in a Level 1 trauma center – Required
  • Experience managing stroke patients – Required
  • Ability to independently cover a Neuro ICU (16 beds) and neurosurgical consults at night – Required
