The University of Missouri's School of Medicine, Department of Pulmonary - Critical Care, is expanding our services. We currently are recruiting for a full-time Physician Assistant to join our growing critical care inpatient services. This is an excellent career opportunity for candidates just starting their careers, as well as experienced candidates, to join a thriving academic pulmonary - critical care division. Working alongside residents and attending physicians, we foster a team-based approach to patient care with thriving clinical and educational opportunities.

Position Responsibilities:

• Work independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals to provide care to Critical care patients in a Medical Intensive Care Unit setting
• Educate and set treatment plans ensuring adherence to therapies
• Act as a resource for patients and families and participate in their education and understanding of the healthcare services provided
• Communicate with physicians about changes in patients' clinical conditions, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology
• Performs diagnostic procedures and follow-up studies as needed.
• Demonstrate a high level of autonomy and expert skills in the diagnosis and treatment of health problems

Shift Type: 7 on/7 off current shift schedule

Minimum Qualifications

Physician Assistant Minimum Qualifications: Physicians Assistant (PA) licensure by the Missouri Board of Registration for the Healing Arts.

Preferred Qualifications

Specialty certificate by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Hospital Medicine, Nephrology, Orthopaedic Surgery, Pediatrics, or Psychiatry.
Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: 108,971.20 - 120,000
Grade: PAT - 014
University Title: PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT SPECIALTY CARE III
