Job Title : Project Engineer Company : Gonzalez Asphalt, Inc. Location : Phoenix, Arizona Reports To : Project Manager / Vice President

Job Summary :

Gonzalez Asphalt is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Project Engineer to support the planning, coordination, and execution of public works and civil construction projects across the Phoenix metro area. This position plays a key role in helping our teams deliver high-quality asphalt paving, grading, concrete, and underground work safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities :

• Project Coordination : Assist Project Managers with day-to-day project oversight including tracking schedules, budgets, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Document Management : Maintain project documentation through client platforms (e.g., PM4+, ACC Build), including submittals, daily reports, safety logs, and as-builts.
• Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination : Support procurement of materials and coordination with subcontractors to ensure timely delivery and compliance with project specs.
• Quantity Tracking & Reporting : Track and verify quantities of materials placed (asphalt tonnage, square footage, etc.) for billing, progress reports, and change orders.
• Client Communication : Assist in preparing progress updates, meeting minutes, and correspondence with municipalities, inspectors, and general contractors.
• Compliance : Ensure compliance with project specifications, municipal requirements, ADA standards, and Gonzalez Companies’ safety and quality protocols.
• Field Support : Visit job sites regularly to support field teams, monitor progress, and help resolve issues in real time.
