Neonatal ICU / Level III NICU Department highlights :

As a regional referral center for high-risk deliveries, Texas Health Fort Worth offers advanced services for complex and high-risk infants - Over 600 NICU admissions per year

63-bed Level III Neonatal ICU / NICU : Utilize the following skills : Bubble CPAP, Conventional Ventilator, Oscillators, and JETs (high-frequency)

Our Level III NICU is staffed 24 hours a day by neonatologists, pediatric sub-specialists, neonatal nurse practitioners and skilled registered nurses who are dedicated in providing experienced care to babies born with special health needs

Here's What You Need

Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program OR Nursing Diploma

BSN preferred

CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (required)

One-year year experience as a clinical nursing (RN) in an acute care setting required.

2-years' experience as a clinical nurse in an acute care setting preferred

2-years current Neonatal ICU / NICU experience strongly preferred

BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required

NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days is required

NRPA-Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days Required

CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required

Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

The Charge Nurse

will communicate and collaborate with all members of the health care team

support and actively participate in shared governance / councils

committed to developing their individual knowledge and skills, as well as advancing the profession of nursing and engaging in lifelong learning / development.

evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

directly assists leadership on a particular unit or units and shift, by offering staff guidance and support, maintaining a clean and safe work environment and ensuring unit operational tasks are completed.
