Position: Clinical Nurse Coordinator (Med-Surg, Ortho/Trauma)
Location: Kansas City, MO
Shifts Available: Nights (Rotating Weekends) | Days available for Med-Surg CNC
Compensation: $35.65 – $47.64/hour (based on experience; top of scale requires ~18 years)
Incentives: Sign-on bonus (case by case) | Relocation assistance (case by case)
Differentials: +$4.00/hour for Nights & Weekends
We are seeking experienced Clinical Nurse Coordinators (CNCs) to join our Med-Surg and Ortho/Neuro Trauma teams in Kansas City, MO. The CNC serves as a charge nurse, ensuring delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care while supporting staff and unit operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a strong Med-Surg RN looking to step into leadership or for an experienced charge nurse ready to take on a broader coordination role. Candidates must be comfortable with a 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio.
Coordinate and oversee patient care and staff assignments during shifts
Support admission, discharge, and patient throughput processes
Collaborate with managers and clinical leaders to monitor quality of care
Model patient-first philosophy and participate in service recovery when needed
Assist with interviewing, onboarding, training, and development of new staff
Provide coaching, feedback, and performance support to team members
Manage staff scheduling and labor practices in alignment with productivity guidelines
Maintain inventory control, supplies, and equipment availability
Promote a culture of teamwork and accountability within the unit
Experience:
Strong, current acute care Med-Surg experience required
Preferred: Prior charge RN experience in acute care Med-Surg OR at least 2 recent years as a Med-Surg staff RN
(Note: Med-Surg experience must be current – not from 5+ years ago)
Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or diploma required)
BSN preferred
Licensure/Certifications:
Current RN license (Missouri or compact)
BLS and ACLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire
Professional organization activity encouraged
Pay: $35.65 – $47.64/hour (based on experience)
