Our Strategy & Investment team plays a vital role in shaping our Te Whatu Ora strategies for Data and Digital. We work closely with our partners to create and maintain our strategy and roadmaps, ensuring that our priorities are met, and the vision comes to life.

Our focus is on providing leadership, managing services, and overseeing architecture to align with our strategic goals. Additionally, we're excited to lead Strategic Partnership Management. This involves fostering partnerships with industry providers, managing relationships with national partners like Microsoft, AWS, and Spark, and handling Data and Digital Contract Management alongside Procurement. Our team develops and maintains frameworks, agreements, and roadmaps to keep everything running smoothly.

As a vital member of our team, you will delve into the exciting world of technical and professional realms, contributing your insights to our dynamic commercial frameworks.

Your role is all about crafting insightful commercial models, conducting thorough research, and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders. Your input will shape evidence-based recommendations and decisions that make a real impact. Working side by side with technical and delivery teams, you'll be the driving force behind smooth procurement and commercial processes.

From analysing data and digital agreements to exploring various formats for different audiences, you'll bring a fresh perspective to the table. Your view will encompass the broader system to understand how your work ripples through, creating connections and meaningful outcomes. Gathering data from diverse sources, you'll lay the foundation for thorough analysis that guides our decision-making process. Your knack for modeling and forecasting will be put to good use, delivering valuable insights that contribute to reports and briefings.

You will have the chance to refine processes, embrace industry trends, and even play a role in shaping Te Whatu Ora's commercial methodologies. Dive into financial modeling, analyse the impact of proposed initiatives, and present comprehensive reports that go beyond just the numbers. As a true collaborator, you'll help define business rules, requirements, and lend a hand in documentation delivery. Quality improvement will be your mantra, ensuring our operational reporting processes remain seamless and efficient.

Preference will be given to applications of significantly affected Kaimahi through the change process.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

  • Previous experience in ICT commercial project or procurement strategy, planning, and management, in a large complex environment. Analytical and technical skills, including the ability to collect, assimilate and summarise raw data in a systematic way to build a useful dataset for analysis. Experience in applying critical thinking and using sound judgement to develop options and provide advice. Drawing on relevant experience acquired over time – at least 3 years.
  • Advanced use of MS Excel for analysis and reporting and MS Word.
  • Demonstrates willingness, and ability, to communicate and build constructive/effective relationships with stakeholders to build a solid understanding of their operational environment and context
  • Previous responsibility at a leadership level for developing, maintaining, and influencing relationships and partnerships across sectors and organisations including with Māori and Pacific Peoples and groups. Proven relationship building skills and well-developed communication skills. Leadership level experience putting into practice the expectations outlined in Te Tiriti o Waitangi in their position.
