Finance Position
Help examine, verify and maintain and reconcile accounts and accounting data, prepare and analyze reports. Make and verify arithmetical computations. Complete and maintain payroll records and determine pay pertaining to civilian employees of the Federal Government. Answer requests and provide advice to employees, supervisors, staff in other financial management series and personnel specialists on pay related rules, regulations, and procedures. Extract data from records to prepare reports. Establish, maintain, correct and close pay accounts for active, reserve, or retired armed forces personnel and their annuitants. Perform in-processing, out-processing, respond to pay inquires, review pay debts, and process adjustments. Maintain ledgers, compile, consolidate, and check and arrange funding data.
Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and / or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. This is a Financial Management Level 1 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following : Experience in using accounting systems, including semi-independent reconciliations, obligation adjustments, and corrections to suspense documents. Experience in applying administrative rules, regulations and procedures associated with records, reporting, processing, and keeping track of budgetary transactions. Experience utilizing procurement procedures and supply instructions in accordance with DoN and DOD regulations. Experience in examining financial documents for accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations for goods and services provided to or by the Government. Experience identifying and resolving financial problems relating to budgetary issues, regulatory issues, and documentation issues.
