Tenure Track : Assistant Professor (ML / AI)

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, College of Engineering at Texas A&M University invites applications for one full time tenure track assistant professor position with a 9-month academic appointment, and the possibility of an additional summer appointment contingent upon need and availability of funds, beginning fall of 2026. The successful applicant will teach both at the undergraduate and graduate level; engage in research activities; advise and mentor students; engage in both internal and external service activities within the general areas of robotics and artificial intelligence and machine-learning / artificial intelligence (ML / AI); participate in all aspects of the department’s activities; and serve the profession.

Consideration will be given to Electrical and Computer Engineering candidates with strong expertise in the broad area of robotics, machine learning and artificial intelligence, with application areas related to computer vision, image / video processing, language processing, signal processing for communications, and control systems. Preference will be given to candidates with strong expertise in foundational research on robotics, machine learning algorithms, optimization, and statistics.

For appointments at Assistant Professor level,applicants must have a doctoral degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering or a closely related engineering or science discipline. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
