Pharmacist Internship

Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Pharmacist Intern to join our team. This paid per diem internship offers hands-on experience in providing pharmaceutical care to residents of long-term care facilities, including nursing homes and assisted living communities. Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, you will assist with medication management, patient counseling, and other essential pharmacy services to ensure optimal patient care.

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare providers
• Participate in medication therapy management activities, including identifying potential drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications
• Provide clinical support by assisting in drug utilization reviews, monitoring patient progress, and communicating findings to the healthcare team
• Assist in maintaining pharmacy documentation and ensuring that pharmacy operations meet high standards of safety and accuracy
• Work closely with pharmacists, healthcare providers, and other members of the team to optimize medication therapy
• Perform “on-call” duties when required

Education, Knowledge and Skills:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) program
• Must be in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy, with an intern license
• Previous experience in Hospital and Retail pharmacy or other medical fields
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
• Detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Proficient in the use of pharmacy software systems and Microsoft Office; Framework / ECM software knowledge a plus

• Per Diem (On-call, as needed)
