Locum Tenens Opportunity for Cardiothoracic Surgeon Near WOODBURY CT

  • Duration : 6-12 months (approximate)
  • Shift Description : Hospital Based, all inpatient - OR / ICU / Rounding of patients in ER and floors, Monday to Friday, 6 : 45AM-5PM + call
  • Weekend Requirements : Nights / Weekend rotation
  • On Call Requirements : Nights / Weekend rotation

  • Dates of Coverage : 6-12 months (approximate)
  • Reason for Coverage : LOA and departure
  • Practice Setting : Hospital Based - all inpatient - OR / ICU / Rounding of patients in ER and floors
  • Schedule : Monday to Friday, 6 : 45AM-5PM
  • Call Schedule : Nights and weekends, approximately 7-8 calls per month
  • Call Ratio : 3 providers taking call
  • Average Number of Cases Per Day : 2 cases per day
  • Trauma Level / Designation : Level One
  • Annual ER Volume : 85,000 per year
  • Number of Operating Rooms : 3
  • Documentation System / EMR : EPIC
  • Description of Ancillary Staff : Full complement
  • Patient Population : Adult and Geriatric
  • Certification Requirement : BLS and ACLS

    • Procedures Required :

  • Descending Aortic Aneurysms
  • CABG
  • Off-Pump CABG
  • Arterial Revascularization (Using Internal Mammary Arteries, Radial Artery, and Gastroepiploic Artery)
  • Redo Coronary Revascularization
  • Tube Thoracostomy
  • Pericardial Window
  • Thoracic aortic aneurysms
  • Heart Valve Repair / Replacement Surgery
  • CoreValve System
  • Mitral Valve Repair

  • Board Certified : Required
  • BLS and ACLS : Required
  • CT License : Highly preferred, will give preference to providers with CT license
  • Local Provider : Required, mileage reimbursement only - please note address at time of presentation

    Are you a board-certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon seeking a locum tenens opportunity near Woodbury, CT? We have a full-time position available to cover the next 6-12 months, with a comprehensive schedule covering inpatient care, OR procedures, ICU, and patient rounding.

    As part of a Level One trauma center, you'll handle a variety of cases, including descending aortic aneurysms, CABG, arterial revascularization, valve repair / replacement surgeries, and more. Our facility boasts a full complement of ancillary staff and utilizes the EPIC EMR system for seamless documentation.

    We prioritize candidates with BLS and ACLS certifications, and a CT license is highly preferred. Local providers are preferred, with mileage reimbursement provided.
