SUMMARY
The Manager of Engineering is responsible for delivering safe, effective, and cost-efficient solutions built on best practices, tailored to customers objectives, while driving innovation to streamline operations, solve challenges, and consistently fulfill our commitments. To the above, includes implementation of current business projects required to expand business or correct current issues with poorly performing operations.
The Manager is responsible for tracking and maintaining their individual engineering metrics that will meet or exceed performance goals. In addition, this position is also responsible to aid in developing, coaching and mentoring the other engineering team members to build engineering competency and grow talent. This person will also have responsibility to support operations in order to meet budgeted operating profits and cost reduction objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Research / Analysis :
- Keep informed of best-in-class tools and techniques needed for solution design
- Track all projects and provide communication and guidance to engineering leadership
- Determine and enlist resources required to support targeted changes in support of CI project including WMS Engineering, Operations, Human Resources, Quality, Etc.
- Analyze workflow including inbound, put away, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping and VAS processes to ensure accuracy and ability to execute
- Ensures all distribution system functionality is configured to optimize performance (e.g., WMS, LMS)
- Performs special research or technical studies critical to logistic support functions
- Performs cost / benefit tradeoff analysis and develop ROI business cases for recommended projects involving process, system, or technology change
- Develops logistics engineering strategies with the engineering leadership team
- May participation in “DSV Quality Planning” (DQP) sessions with new clients validating requirements and processes
Documentation / Reporting :

Education and / or Experience
Bachelor Degreein Industrial Engineeringrequired or equivalent combination of education and work experience.Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in a supply chain (warehouse / 4walls) environment.Prior leadership positions directing Logistics Engineers in 3PL / supply chain environmentSKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including relevant experience, skills, education or certifications, and geographic location, consistent with applicable laws and company policy.
