Sign Maker – Job Description
Overview :
A Sign Maker is responsible for producing high-quality signs using a variety of materials, tools (welding), and production methods. This role involves layout, fabrication, printing, assembly, and sometimes installation of signage for commercial, industrial, and retail clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate signage using materials such as vinyl, plastic, metal, acrylic, and wood.
- Operate production equipment including vinyl plotters, wide-format printers, laminators, CNC routers, and laser cutters (depending on shop capabilities).
- Prepare artwork for production using software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, or similar design tools.
- Apply vinyl graphics to various substrates (panels, vehicles, windows, displays).
- Assemble signs including channel letters, dimensional letters, lighted signs, post & panel systems, and other custom designs.
- Perform finishing tasks such as cutting, sanding, painting, and laminating.
- Ensure quality control by reviewing measurements, colors, and materials before final output.
- Assist with installation of indoor and outdoor signage when needed.
- Maintain tools and equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Communicate with team members and customers to clarify project requirements.
Compensation : will be determined based on experience, and the position offers frequent opportunities for overtime as well as regular performance evaluations. 50-60 hours per week including Saturdays, paid overtime.
