Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled
Internet / Web Engineer with a specialized focus on the
Microsoft Power Platform to join the Department of Public Health (DPH) team. In this lead role, you will modernize public health digital services by transitioning legacy processes into streamlined, automated, and user-friendly low-code / pro-code solutions.
You will bridge the gap between traditional web engineering and modern rapid-application development to support critical public health initiatives, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility for the citizens of South Carolina.

Location : Columbia, SC (Relocation required prior to start at candidate's expense)
Work Arrangement : Hybrid (4 Days Onsite / 1 Day Remote)

Key Responsibilities
Solution Design & Development : Design and maintain complex custom applications using
Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven) and optimize workflows via
Power Automate .
Web Integration & Pro-Code : Integrate solutions with existing web portals and develop custom
PCF controls using JavaScript / TypeScript when out-of-the-box features are insufficient.
Data Management : Implement relational data models within
Microsoft Dataverse and connect to sources including SharePoint, SQL Server, and third-party APIs.
Compliance & Accessibility : Ensure all solutions adhere to
HIPAA regulations and meet
WCAG 2.1 / Section 508 accessibility standards.
Mentorship : Provide guidance to junior staff and assist in establishing a Power Platform
Center of Excellence (CoE) .
Required Skills & Qualifications
MS Power Platform : 3 5 years of deep technical experience (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse).
Web Technologies : Proficiency in
HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for customizing web-based forms.
Database Management : Strong understanding of relational database concepts and
MS SQL Server .
API Integration : Experience with RESTful APIs and custom connectors.
Governance : Familiarity with Environment strategy and Security Roles.
Education : Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, Web Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Skills
Experience with
Power BI for data visualization.
Advanced
SharePoint Online document management.
Familiarity with
Azure Logic Apps or
Azure Functions .
Relevant Certifications :
PL-100, PL-200, PL-400, or PL-900 .
