Program Director

Overview

First Tee Tulsa is a non-profit youth development program that teaches life skills and core values through golf. Youth in the Tulsa area, ages 7-18, participate in the year-round program at four golf courses and 20 schools. The First Tee-Tulsa headquarters is at Mohawk Park Golf Course. The Program Director's leadership is vital in shaping participants' experiences and ensuring programs meet high standards of quality and impact. Working under the guidance of Executive Director / PGA Class A professional Janice Gibson and collaborating with 10-12 part-time hourly coaches, the program reaches more than 10,000 students each year.

Experience Required

Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.

This position requires golf experience and knowledge of the basic rules of golf.

Must advance in the First Tee Coach Program—ability to travel a minimum of 1 training annually and complete the post-training documents.

Possess a valid Oklahoma driver's license to drive the First Tee 14-seat passenger van.

Preferably 2-3 years of experience in program management.

Essential Responsibilities

• In collaboration with the Executive Director and Program Manager, develop an annual program schedule.
• Develop constructive, cooperative, and effective working relationships with community youth agency leaders, school administrators, and golf course professionals.
• Create monthly programming calendars that include golf / life skills programs and supplemental programs to expand organizational impact.
• Secure satellite golf courses and schools as venues for programming.
• Fill the program calendar with hourly staff on a bi-weekly basis. Coordinate and communicate to them their hours.
• Collect, analyze, and report participant data for measurement of impact.
• Write quarterly summary reports.
• Promote, assist, and work in fundraising and celebratory events.
• Work together with the Executive Director in the recruitment and training of coaches.
• Drive the van to offsite programming with equipment and coaches aboard.
• Be the leader and oversee the coaches during the classes.
• Provide feedback to the coaches.
• Assist with the ongoing life skills / golf skills curriculum and lesson plan development.
