  • Assignment Type : Travel RN\n
  • Location : New Haven, Connecticut 06510\n
  • Facility : Level I Trauma Center, Cardiac ICU (CVICU)\n
  • Start Date : January 16, 2026\n
  • End Date : April 17, 2026\n
  • Duration : 13-week contract\n
  • Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM - 7 : 00 AM), 3 shifts / week\n
  • Hours per Week : 36\n
  • Guaranteed Hours : Yes\n
  • Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend\n
  • Patient Ratios : 1 : 2 (days and nights)\n
  • Charting System : Epic\n

    • \n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n \n

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut or compact state (pending license accepted)\n
  • Minimum 3 years of Cardiac ICU nursing experience\n
  • At least 1 year of Level I Trauma Center experience\n
  • Proficient in Swan-Ganz monitoring\n
  • Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (CCRN preferred)\n
  • Experience with Epic electronic charting\n
  • Previous charge nurse experience\n
  • Ability to float to ICU and PCU units as needed\n
  • Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)\n
  • One professional reference required\n

    • \n\nCVICU RN Responsibilities\n \n

  • Provide expert nursing care to adult patients in a high-acuity CVICU setting\n
  • Manage complex cardiac cases : post-CABG, valve repairs / replacements, aneurysm repairs, heart / kidney transplants, VAD implantation\n
  • Monitor and manage advanced cardiac devices : ECMO, IABP, Impella, Centrimag, VAD\n
  • Perform and interpret Swan-Ganz and arterial line monitoring\n
  • Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips\n
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social services)\n
  • Assist with procedures such as bronchoscopy and ECMO cannulation\n
  • Maintain accurate documentation in Epic\n
  • Follow infection prevention and isolation protocols\n
  • Float to ICU and PCU units as required\n
