Our Tucson, AZ office have an excellent opportunity for a Geotechnical Field Engineer. The ideal candidate will have passed the fundamentals of engineering exam (E.I.T.) and have an interest in geotechnical and civil engineering, construction materials testing, and special inspection services. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Duties include, but not limited to, the following :

• Work with drill rigs and excavators to sample and classify soils
• Review aerial photography
• Assist in analysis of soil to determine engineering characteristics
• Assist in writing geotechnical reports
• Review engineering drawings and reports
• Collect and oversee soil sampling using borings and test pits
• Perform and oversee laboratory tests
• Assist in making recommendations regarding foundation design, soil bearing pressures, slope stability, and lateral earth pressures
• Perform sampling and testing of concrete, masonry, grout, asphalt, and soil
• Problem solve with job site contractors

Skills and Requirements – minimum qualifications for the position include :

This position requires some overnight travel throughout the southwest. Must have a clean motor vehicle record and pass a pre-employment drug test.
