The Greater Los Angeles VA Healthcare System is seeking a Staff Psychologist for our Community-Based Outpatient Clinic in Santa Maria, CA, where dedication to providing exceptional care to our nation's veterans is the standard. As a Staff Psychologist within our team, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of those who have served our country. In this role, the psychologist will also provide adjunctive interventions for treating medical disorders and collaborate with medical center staff on various patient care matters. Additionally, staff psychologists may engage in program coordination, evaluation, teaching, training, and research activities.
Key Responsibilities :
- Diagnose and Assess : Bring your expertise to diagnose mental disorders and perform neuropsychological, psychological, and cognitive function assessments, along with neuropsychological screenings.
- Innovative Treatment : Utilize various modalities to treat mental disorders and provide adjunctive interventions for medical conditions, ensuring comprehensive care.
- Psycho-Diagnostic Excellence : Offer a full spectrum of psycho-diagnostic services, using the most advanced psychotherapeutic techniques to deliver top-notch patient care.
- Comprehensive Evaluations : Conduct thorough evaluations for psychodiagnosis, treatment planning, and functional assessments, ensuring precise and tailored treatment plans.
- Diverse Therapeutic Interventions : Lead a full range of therapeutic interventions, including individual and group psychotherapy, family therapy, consultation, rehabilitation, and psychoeducation.
- Consultation Expertise : Share your knowledge by consulting with medical center staff on a wide array of patient care issues and contribute to program evaluation and research activities.
- Leading Training and Supervision : Provide training and clinical supervision to psychology trainees, technicians, and unlicensed psychologists, fostering the next generation of professionals.
- Active Training Role : Get involved in our Psychology Training Program and Training Committee, influencing training standards and outcomes.
- Leadership and Guidance : Offer leadership guidance and consultation to staff members in assigned units, driving high standards of care and collaboration.
- Consultant and Mentor : Serve as a consultant to fellow medical staff and trainees, assisting in understanding psychological characteristics and setting appropriate treatment expectations.
- Academic Contributions : Potentially hold faculty appointments at affiliated universities, contributing to educational growth and professional development.
- Program Quality Assurance : Develop, monitor, and analyze program outcomes using data-driven quality assurance processes to improve care delivery continuously.
- Timely Documentation : Ensure all clinical charting and documentation are completed in a timely manner and in alignment with Medical Center or healthcare system requirements.
- Research and Innovation : Plan and oversee personal research projects designed to inform program planning and treatment approaches.
- Disseminate Knowledge : Present outcome data and research results at VA and regional or national scientific or professional meetings, showcasing your contributions to the field.
Work Schedule : M-F, 8 : 00am-4 : 30pm (some flexibility considered)
Qualifications :

Salary Range : $104,219 - $193,106 (Final determination based on qualifications)
