P.J. Keating is looking for a motivated high school co-op student to join our Quality Control (QC) department! This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in construction materials testing and learn how we maintain high standards of quality for our asphalt and aggregate products.

As a Quality Control Co-Op, you’ll work alongside experienced technicians and be introduced to the key steps of our quality assurance process. You’ll learn how to sample, test, and evaluate materials used in road and paving projects, helping ensure our products meet safety and performance standards.

What You’ll Learn and Do

• Work in the quarry : Assist with sampling materials and performing gradation tests to monitor quality and consistency.
• Learn industry standards : Become familiar with specification requirements for aggregates and asphalt.
• Support asphalt production : Help monitor the quality of hot asphalt mix by checking temperature, thickness, and density during installation.
• Perform material testing : Learn how to measure weight, specific gravity, and gradation of materials.
• Collaborate with QC technicians : Communicate about test results and mix specifications to understand how data impacts real-world projects.
• Use lab technology : Input test results and learn to manage data using computer systems in both lab and field environments.
