Job Summary

The Director of Accounting Services and Reporting provides leadership, oversight, and supervision in the areas of budget management and execution for the department's administrative, regulatory, community services, and reentry programs, and 11 Minnesota correctional facilities. The position will collaborate closely with the agency's Legislative Budget Director to implement the biennial and supplemental budget through the development of annual spend plans, including position control. Finally, the Director will develop, implement, and take primary responsibility for new financial systems from conception to completion; oversee the preparation of schedules for the stat ACFR, and oversee the development and submission of federal indirect cost proposals.

Job Responsibilities

Below are the principle responsibilities for this position :

• Collaborate with the Legislative Budget Director in the development of the agency biennial budget to ensure the legislature is provided with the necessary information to make informed funding decisions for the department.
• Direct and manage assembly of the spending plans for all Agency programs so the programs can operate within budget and in conformity with fiscal legislative intent.
• Oversee the administration of multiple budgets across the agency, ensuring alignment with programmatic goals and fiscal accountability. Provide budget managers with timely and accurate updates on budget status to support efficient program operations and ensure financial resources are managed in accordance with departmental policies and applicable state regulations.
• Provide leadership, management, and supervision of Central Office finance staff to ensure they are operating in an efficient and effective manner.

Top candidate(s) must pass a criminal history check which includes successful completion of all sentencing and / or restitution requirements of law enforcement jurisdictions, including probation.
