We're looking for a technically strong Software Development Manager to help us transform legal research - and litigation workflows more broadly - with GenAI. In this role, you'll guide, empower a team of talented engineers, oversee the end-to-end creation of robust UI and backend services, and influence strategic decisions that drive our Westlaw product delivery forward.

Required Skills and Experience
Technical Expertise :
Education : Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Equivalent Experience.
Software Engineering Experience : Over 5 years of hands-on experience in software engineering with a demonstrated history of leading the development of scalable, web-based solutions. Proficient in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
Back-end Proficiency : Strong familiar or experience with popular Python frameworks, including Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
Front-end Proficiency : Skilled in using modern UI frameworks such as React, Angular, or similar, along with TypeScript and Node.js.
Data Engineering and MLOps Background : Solid foundation in data engineering or machine learning operations (MLOps).
Cloud Technology Experience : More than 3 years of experience working with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP, with a preference for AWS.
DevOps Practices : Well-versed in DevOps methodologies, including CI / CD pipelines and infrastructure as code.
AI Framework Knowledge : Familiar with AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Hugging Face, as well as GenAI concepts like prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and fine-tuning.
Agile Development Experience : Experienced in agile development methodologies.
AI Tools : Experience in using AI-powered tools in SDLC is required.
Team Leadership : Managerial Experience : 3+ years of managing engineering teams, with success in coaching, mentoring, and nurturing talent.
Problem-Solving Skills : Ability to navigate ambiguity, make data-driven decisions, and deliver impactful results in a fast-paced environment.
Strategic Mindset : Adept at driving product innovation and ensuring that technical decisions align with broader business goals.
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with AWS platforms; AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, etc.) preferred.
