VHS is looking for a qualified Physician - Pediatric Hospitalist.

• We are looking for more of a May start date as we filled the schedule with current providers Jan-April. Putting job on hold until we can get specific dates. If your provider is no longer interested, please cancel the bid.
• UPDATE 10 / 23 : We will have more of an idea of what specific dates will be needed come next month as they are working on the 2026 schedule.
• 'Average census’ : Well babies 1-5 (up to 6-7)NICU 0-5, usually 1-3 babiesPeds 0-1 (usually zero)Clean file is preferred but is not required for this position as we will have more time to privilege.We will try to get someone started sooner than February if needed, but that would mean quick turnaround on the privileging process. Please set the expectation for Feb to start. NRP Required Schedule : 6am-6am24hr call only (not required to be in house)
• We will be opening another search shortly for 2026 dates
• Please note workload at this site is low
• We don't do central line placement outside the newborn period (UVC and UAC are technically central lines but only for neonates)chest tubes, intubations for pediatric patients would most likely occur in the ED. ED docs and anesthesia would typically have significantly more experience here.oREQUIRED
• Neonatal airway management including intubation
• Management of neonatal air leak / pneumothorax including needle decompression
• Emergent UVC placement (delivery room)
• UVC / UAC placement
• Lumbar puncture
• EKG interpretationoPreferred
• Ventilator management
• Chest tube insertion (neonates)Please note that the privileging timeline will not begin until the RFA and application are turned back in. Typical turn around for RFA is 48-72 hours. Application should be submitted within 5 days.oAll specialties require 2 years of current Hospital clinical activity in the specialty.oGaps greater than 3 months must be explained.oInclude current number of case logs upon presentation for surgical specialties. Provider must have an active CA license and they must be BC or truly BE within 3-5 years of residency.
• 1099 Pay Rate : Competitive Market Rates (W-2 Pay Packages available upon request)
