Job Description
The Product Manager-Structural & Systems for Shelter Solutions is responsible for guiding the strategic direction of our Shelter product portfolio. In this role, you will collaborate cross-functionally to strategically manage our portfolio of Structural (Primary and Secondary Structural) and Systems (PEMB, Cold Form etc) products that meet market demands, drive revenue growth, and enhance our competitive positioning. Key Responsibilities :
- Strategic Product Leadership :
- Execute a comprehensive product (including related services) strategy and roadmap aligned with business objectives, market trends, competitive gaps, and customer needs.
- Optimize our portfolio through strategic standardization and rationalization of products to ensure we go to market with an optimal portfolio that meets customer needs but unlocks network fungibility across the Shelter manufacturing footprint.
- Identify growth opportunities and prioritize product development efforts accordingly.
- Responsible for the P&L at the product level across all four divisions of Shelter.
- Manage and improve the profitability of the product portfolio through the lifecycle.
- Evaluate and manage third-party solutions for make vs. buy decisions.
- Define product specifications, supporting services, pricing strategies, and positioning in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with engineering on product testing requirements.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of published product information.
- Mergers & Acquisitions :
- Support the analysis of competitive portfolios for M&A considerations
- Identify opportunities for strategic M&A that are complimentary to the Shelter strategy
- Lead product level integration for recently acquired companies to ensure optimized and standardized portfolios across Shelter.
- Market and Competitive Analysis :
- Monitor market trends, competitors, and industry developments to identify opportunities and threats.
- Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and adjustments to the product (with related services) strategy.
- Translate external market and category trends and insights into tangible, value add business opportunities, ensuring our portfolio is balanced and spans both tactical and strategic timeframes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration :
Partner with sales to ensure products meet customer expectations and deliver exceptional value.Work closely with Innovation, Commercial Excellence, engineering, manufacturing, marketing, sales, and Sales Excellence to drive product development and launch efforts.Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure successful product execution.Evaluate and streamline operational processes and product services that impact the customer experience with relevant internal stakeholdersQualifications
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.Minimum of 5 years of marketing or product management experience. Strong understanding of the PEMB industry, including building materials, construction processes, and market dynamics.Proven track record of successfully launching and managing product portfolios.Ability to travel as needed 15%-20%.Excellent command over the MS Office suite to include advanced features of Excel and PowerPoint.Power BI experience is a plus.MBS experience is a plus.Manufacturing background is a plus.Additional Information
