Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Safety Professional to provide safety oversight on a large-scale federal construction project. This position requires a proven safety professional with strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to drive a proactive safety culture across all site operations.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of construction safety experience with a track record of success on complex projects
  • CHST or CSP certification (required)
  • OSHA 30 Hour Training (completed within the past 5 years)
  • First Aid / CPR / AED certification (required)
  • Must demonstrate strong knowledge of EM 385-1-1 requirements, with current 40-Hour certification.
  • Five or more documented successful projects adhering to EM385-1-1 guidelines.
  • Fall Protection, Scaffolding, Confined Space, and Excavation / Trenching specialized trainings are required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion Safety Culture : Prepare and enforce health and safety policies that build a safe, proactive jobsite environment.
  • Monitor & Report : Track safety compliance, document findings, and communicate updates
  • Identify & Solve Hazards : Spot risks early, recommend solutions, and ensure preventive measures are put in place.
  • Drive Engagement : Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions to keep teams engaged and aligned.
  • Stay Present & Involved : Maintain regular on-site presence, participate in project meetings, and provide proactive safety guidance.
  • Ensure Compliance : Verify that all work follows approved manuals, internal procedures, and contract requirements.
  • Maintain Documentation : Keep accurate logs of inspections, reports, and safety correspondence.
  • Oversee Site Activity : Supervise subcontractors and contractors to ensure work meets EHS requirements.
  • Investigate & Improve : Conduct investigations for accidents, incidents, and near misses; follow through on corrective actions.
  • Enforce Standards : Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with safety procedures at all times.
  • Support the Project : Contribute to additional safety initiatives and requirements as needed.
