- Responsibilities
Most shifts are 2 : 30pm-10 : 30pm and every other weekend.
- Provide home care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a group living environment
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and independence
- Support individuals in maintaining their rights and dignity
- Prepare meals and assist with meal planning according to dietary needs and preferences
- Administer medications as prescribed and document accordingly
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and organizing
- Accompany individuals to appointments, outings, and social activities
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate supervisor
- Qualifications
- Highschool diploma / GED
- Must be able to clear a criminal background study.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
- Knowledge of resident rights and person-centered care principles will be a key piece of training you will receive and utilize.
- Ability to lift and transfer individuals using proper body mechanics and assistive devices if necessary, depending on the assigned location.
- First aid and CPR certification preferred but we will train.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Strong communication skills in English and the ability to work effectively with individuals, families, and a multidisciplinary team a must.
- Basic skills with using a computer will be required, but we will teach a motivated learner.
