Automation Engineer Whitehall MI

Salary Range : $86000 - $131000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Design develop and implement automation solutions for manufacturing processes.
  • Program and configure PLCs HMIs SCADA systems and industrial robots.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with automated equipment and control systems.
  • Optimize existing automation systems for improved efficiency quality and throughput.
  • Collaborate with production maintenance and engineering teams on automation projects.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for automation systems and procedures.
  • Ensure all automation solutions comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Expertise in PLC programming (e.g. Rockwell Siemens) and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in HMI / SCADA system design development and integration.
  • Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g. EtherNet / IP Profinet Modbus TCP / IP).
  • Experience with industrial robotics motion control systems or servo drives.
  • Knowledge of industrial sensors actuators and instrumentation.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex automation system issues in a manufacturing environment.

    • Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with advanced robotics machine vision or complex material handling systems.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate operational technology (OT) data with enterprise IT systems or cloud platforms.
  • Certification or experience in OT / ICS cybersecurity best practices.
