Safety Manager - St. Louis, MO

The Spirit of the Position :

The Safety Manager oversees the overall safety, compliance, and training programs across the entire facility. This role ensures a safe and efficient environment for employees, customers, and operations while maintaining compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and committed to fostering a strong culture of safety.

Principal Job Duties :

• Possess and exhibit a “People First” – “How can I help” attitude.

Ensure staff follow all safety rules, policies, and procedures.

Supervise, mentor, and train team members on safety best practices and daily activities.

Establish performance standards and recommend procedural improvements when necessary.

Enforce company safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Monitor logs, conduct audits, and complete reporting to ensure compliance.

Coach employees on safety concerns and corrective actions.

Oversee facility-wide safety inspections, equipment checks, and maintenance schedules.

Coordinate with vendors and departments on repairs, inspections, and safety initiatives.

Conduct spot checks and periodic trainings.

Track and report corporate safety initiatives, training completion, and incident trends.

Support operational efficiency through collaboration with other departments.

Resolve safety-related concerns promptly with a customer-first approach.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education :

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience preferred.

Skills :

Supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred.

Strong customer service and communication skills.

Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.

Proficient in scheduling tools, reporting systems, and Microsoft Office.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Commitment to continuous improvement and teambuilding.

Physical Demands :

Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.

Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.

Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and lift frequently throughout a shift.

Willingness to work in various environmental conditions (heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.).
