Job Title : Maintenance Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to support the production equipment in a bustling coffee roasting warehouse. The role involves performing mechanical and electrical maintenance on a variety of equipment, including coffee roasters, silo systems, bagger / filler machines, labelers, and more. The technician will play a critical role in ensuring minimal downtime by troubleshooting and repairing machinery while collaborating with team members for continuous improvements.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on production equipment, including coffee roasters, silo systems, and bagging machines.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, including LEAN practices.
• Troubleshoot and repair aging machinery to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with team members to identify and implement small-scale upgrades.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and GMP-compliant workspace.
• Contribute to the development of maintenance protocols and documentation.

Essential Skills

Work Environment

This position is based in a coffee roasting warehouse where a small team collaborates to produce over 100,000 lbs of coffee beans weekly. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 7 : 00 AM to 3 : 30 PM, with potential overtime until 5 : 00 PM. The warehouse can be warmer in summer and colder in winter, reflecting the need for adaptability in varying conditions.

This is a Contract position based out of Durham, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00 / hr.
