Bare Bones is a rapidly growing omnichannel food and beverage brand focused on delivering nutrition in delicious and wildly convenient formats. Over the past three years the company has more than tripled in size (from under $10 million to over $40 million in revenue), become consistently profitable, expanded its product line from broths to include beverages, and has expanded its retail footprint to include Costco and leading grocery retailers (including national distribution at Whole Foods, Kroger, Walmart and Safeway-Albertson’s). The company is seeking to add a Sales Ops Manager to the team to help support all sales and operations functions.
Job Summary
The Sales & Operations Manager will act as a key link between Sales, Operations, and cross‑functional teams. This role is essential to ensuring seamless execution, strengthening communication, and maintaining well-structured systems and processes as we grow. The ideal candidate is a detail‑oriented problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, growing environment and is equally comfortable in spreadsheets, inventory management and accounting systems, and distributor portals. This role will report into the Operations team while maintaining close alignment with Sales.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Sales team with sample request fulfillment and shipping
- Monitor and report on weekly inventory and distribution needs, highlighting required DC shipments, overstock holds, and allocation or shortage management
- Own the order fulfillment process in partnership with Operations, applying account priorities and inventory constraints, with Ops approval as needed
Operational Support : Order & Customer Management
Review and approve incoming orders, coordinating any necessary edits with distributor replenishment buyers to ensure accuracy prior to shipmentMonitor retailer and distributor orders and flag issues as neededCommunicate order requirements and timing to the operations and production teamsAlign with the sales team on any changes, constraints, or special requestsProvide timely updates to retailers and distributors regarding order status, delays, or substitutionsManage the sales order tracker and track allocations by customerCommunicate inventory updates and order statuses across Sales and OpsCommunicate outbound service levels to internal teamsMonitor shortages and proactively communicate issues with internal and external stakeholdersProvide data to support the S&OP processAttend regular distributor calls; track and follow up on action itemsAssist with compliance-related deduction tracking (e.g., shorts, late shipments) by providing BOLs and documentation to support claimsManage distributor and retailer portals (e.g., UNFI, KeHE, Whole Foods, Ahold) for inventory and order managementServe as a point of contact for distributor communications and requestsMaintain and update master specification and pricing matrices based on updates from the Operations teamMonitor EDI or portal order transmission and alert the team to any failuresCross‑Functional & Administrative Support
Document internal processes and help identify areas for operational improvementSupport ongoing cleanup and organization of shared resources (e.g., forms, trackers, folders)Proactively communicate key updates between Sales, Ops, and external partners to ensure smooth executionJob Requirements
2–5 years of experience in Sales Operations, Supply Chain, Account Management, or similar roles within a CPG environmentFamiliarity in order / inventory systems (ERP / IMS + FMS / OMS) and e-commerce platforms (Shopify, Amazon)Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams, suppliers, and customersStrong business, communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to consistently deliver rapid resultsNimble and comfortable with change / pivotingHigh level of attention to detail and high performance standards for selfProficient with Excel, Dropbox, Google Sheets, etc.Comfortable working in a hybrid work environmentMust reside in the United States; preference given to candidates in San Diego or the Bay Area, CaliforniaHow we work

Salary range of $75,000−$95,000 with full benefits package including health insurance and 401(k) with matching.
