We are currently searching for an experienced Ports Engineer Practice Lead to support our Southeast Region located in Florida .

To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, a Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil / Structural Engineering.

What you’ll be doing :

• Serving as a practice builder and growing the SE Region’s ports practice
• Conducting ongoing business development activities
• Hiring, managing, and motivating staff
• Independently performing and supervising structural analysis and design for marine and upland components
• Independently performing and supervising berthing and mooring analyses
• Leading development of plans, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates for a variety of port projects
• Applying a strong understanding of maritime codes and references including UFC, PIANC, ASCE-61
• Independently preparing basis of design, design calculations, technical reports, alternatives analyses, and study reports
• Utilizing your appropriate understanding of interdisciplinary requirements for port projects to improve project processes and perform QA / QC reviews
• Attending client meetings and performing site visits
• Mentoring a team of developing port and maritime engineers
• Leveraging existing industry relationships to promote Volkert ports services and cross-sell across all disciplines
• Performing additional responsibilities as required by the region’s business needs
