Domiciliary Nursing Assistant

The Domiciliary Nursing Assistant (NA) at the Eastern Kansas VAHCS Leavenworth, serves as an integral member of the healthcare team. NA's work closely with our Veterans and their families to deliver exceptional customer and patient care. Responsibilities include :

• Providing a full range of services and nursing care to patients who present for or request assistance with a variety of mental, physical and / or behavior problems.
• Performing services requiring technical and manual skills and obtaining basic patient data.
• Aiding patients with various disabilities and levels of mobility utilizing appropriate safe patient handling equipment.
• Recognizing and reporting potential safety hazards and life-threatening emergencies and responding appropriately.
• Fostering / supporting a learning environment by participation in the orientation of new employees, providing feedback as appropriate and seeking opportunities for self-improvement.

Other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule : 0730-1600, includes holidays and weekends.

Pay : Competitive salary and regular salary increases.

Paid Time Off : 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year.

Parental Leave : After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.

Child Care Subsidy : After 60 days of employment, full-time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs.

Retirement : Traditional federal pension and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA.
