Embedded Software Engineer

We are in search of a passionate Embedded Software Engineer to join in the development of a breakthrough PET Scanner system. This new product is a key initiative, and will improve results, imaging speed, patient experience, and more. As an Embedded Engineer, you will focus on ensuring the reliability of the data acquisition subsystem, a critical component in delivering high-quality imaging solutions. Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and optimize embedded software for the PET Scanner’s data acquisition subsystem.
• Write efficient, reliable, and maintainable code in C/C++ for Linux or Unix-based operating systems.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers and system architects, to enhance software reliability and performance.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve real-time software issues in embedded systems.
• Participate in software verification and validation processes to ensure compliance with healthcare and industry standards.
• Optimize system performance to improve data acquisition accuracy and efficiency.
• Contribute to system architecture discussions and provide insights for software improvements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++ with experience in embedded software development.
• Proficiency in Linux OS (Unix experience is also acceptable).
• Experience working with real-time or high-reliability embedded systems.
• Familiarity with software development processes, including version control (Git) and debugging tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Prior experience in medical device software development or data acquisition systems is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with low-level programming, including device drivers and firmware development.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements for medical devices (e.g., FDA, IEC 62304).
• Familiarity with network protocols and data communication in embedded systems.
