Overview:
Seeking an IRL Technologist to perform basic and advanced donor and patient testing, interpret results for donor-recipient compatibility, and support hospitals with complex serologic problem-solving. This role includes both automated and manual lab testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consult with medical facility staff to resolve complex serologic issues and support transfusion needs.
- Coordinate the receipt, transport, and shipment of donor and patient samples; support daily lab workflow.
- Manage reagent inventory, including ordering, receiving, inspecting, and preparation.
- Perform and interpret a full range of donor/patient testing procedures and all required quality controls.
- Identify and resolve testing irregularities; assist junior technologists with issue resolution.
- Maintain accurate electronic and manual records.
- Perform lab equipment maintenance, repairs, and validations; assist with training and record review.
Schedule:
Baylor Shift - three 12-hour shifts (7A-7P, 9A-9P, or 12P-12A)
Includes Saturdays, Sundays, and a weekday of choice.
Compensation:
$28.37-$37.84/hour (DOE; negotiable)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Biological Science or Chemistry.
- MT(ASCP), BB(ASCP), or equivalent certification required.
- State licensure if applicable.
- Minimum 4 years of related experience (or equivalent education/experience combination).
- Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Physical Requirements:
Standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs; working in cold storage environments; use of protective lab equipment and PPE; operation of various lab instruments.
